Obituary of CHANTEL SANDRA SAWATZKY
CHANTEL SANDRA SAWATZKY
December 11, 1968 – June 25, 2025
On Wednesday, June 25th, 2025 at the age of 56, our beautiful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away after a long battle with COPD at the St. Boniface hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Chantel was survived by her family that loved her very much; her best friend Todd Houle; stepfather Chuck Ferris; children Jocelyn (Brett), Connor (Rachel), Clayton (Tayler) and Tanner (Kenzie); siblings Wayne (Darlene), Trevor (Amber), Janelle (Mike), Crystal, Maria (Jeff), Nicole, Megan and Chris; Grand children Jaymee, Carter, Callie, Kai and Jaiden. Along with many nieces, nephews, family, friends and pets (Shadow and Maya) that absolutely cherished her.
She was predeceased by her mother Joan Ferris and father Wayne Brayshaw, as well as the father to her 3 boys Todd Sech.
Chantel was born in Winnipeg Manitoba to Joan Ferris and Wayne Brayshaw. She was raised by her beloved mother and stepfather Chuck Ferris, who she loved dearly. Raised most of her life in the Tyndall Park area, she attended Weston School, Tyndall Park School and Sisler High School.
Chantel will always be remembered as somebody who lit up the room with her wild and charismatic personality, known for her high kicks, her love for music (every song was her song) and her outrageous storytelling. She lived life to the fullest with a spontaneous mindset and free spirit. Never passing judgement, she viewed everyone as equal and always put others before herself. Her amazing smile and contagious laugh will forever leave an imprint on everyone's heart.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at St Boniface hospital that helped her through her last moments, as well as her lung specialists (Dr. Homik) that helped her along the way during her battle with COPD
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street..
Although we lost an absolute treasure, we are at peace knowing she is finally free from her everyday struggles with her health. May you fly high our beautiful angel.
“Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. “
