Obituary of ANNE SHOLUDKO

ANNE( FORSACHUK) SHOLUDKO

February 5, 1939 - June 12, 2025

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Sholudko.

Anne was born in Stenen Saskatchewan, February 6, 1939 to parents John and Mary Forsachuk. She was the oldest of 4 siblings, two sisters Irene and Ollie and a brother Sam. After living in Stenen for several years, the family moved to Lenswood Manitoba, where they  farmed for a short period of time.  In 1949 the family purchased a farm and moved west of Bowsman. Anne attended Lavender School and achieved her grade 8 early. It was at this time she left home and began working. First at the Valley Hotel in Swan River and then the Red and White Grocery store. At this time she met Alex Sholudko. They fell in love and were married August 3, 1961. They moved to Durban where Alex worked as the elevator agent for Manitoba Pool and Anne worked in the local Co-op store. In 1975 Alex was promoted to head office so they packed up their bags and moved to Winnipeg where they remained until 2015. Then wanting to be closer to family, they moved back to Swan River.

In Winnipeg Anne took a job with Safeway where she worked for many years as head cashier and then a trainer of personnel until retirement.

Alex and Anne loved to travel and did numerous bus tours, a trip to Europe and a very special cruise. They also liked to camp which they did every summer.  First tenting at Clearwater Lake then staying at Rocky Lake Cabins.

Anne was our "Martha Stewart".  She was a wonderful gourmet cook, great baker, green thumb gardener and the most fantastic wine maker. When she invited you for dinner, you knew it would be a delicious surprise (you never refused).

She was always there, willing to help anyone who needed a hug, a smile. an ear to vent or what ever else was required.

Always loving and caring.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Alex Sholudko; parents John and Mary Forsachuk; sister Irene Banting; her brother Sam Forsachuk and in-laws Nick and Annie Sholudko.

Anne leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Ollie Viflanzoff and husband Dave; brother in law Wayne Banting; nieces Leanne (Curtis), Jaunita ( Albert), Dawn, Tammy, Peggy, Carrie (Mark); nephews Kyle and Jamie (Olya) as well as their children.

We cried when you passed away, We still cry today. We couldn’t make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest.

God broke our heart to prove to us he only takes the best.

A celebration of life will be held in Swan River at a later date.
