Obituary of ZOFIA CHMIELUK
May 1, 1957 - June 12, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zofia Chmieluk, with family by her side on Thursday June 12, 2025, at the age of 68.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 45 years, Tadeusz; daughters Lindusia and Amandusia (Marko); brother Jan (Ania); nephew Andrzej (Marta) and children Laura and Wiktor; nephew Michał (Ania) and children Tomasz and Adam; as well as many more family members and friends in Poland and Canada. Zofia will also be missed by her in-laws Anka, Vid and Marija. She was predeceased by her parents Michalina and Władysław Marcinów, and her dog Puffy.
She was the smartest person we knew and could solve any problem she set her mind to! Leveraging her analytical and problem solving skills she established her career as a Systems Analyst at Canada Life for nearly 35 years.
Zofia found great joy in her family and in life’s simple pleasures. She loved flowers and animals and would often walk through the gardens and sit at the duck ponds in Kildonan Park and Assiniboine Park to admire them.
Family was very important to her. Most of her extended family live in Poland and she would visit them every few years. She also loved to travel with her family and toured many countries in Europe and North America, taking in the scenery and different kinds of architecture.
Zofia always loved taking photos to capture the moment, from the scenic views of her travels to close-ups of beautiful flowers. She also loved taking selfies with her family, especially on holidays.
