Obituary of YVONNE MARIE PETRINOV
Yvonne Marie Petrinov (nee Strimbiski)
July 27, 1931 – June 10, 2025
Yvonne passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10 at Calvary Place Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Tony, mom Mary, father Frank, and brother Brian.
Yvonne will be lovingly remembered by her cousin Pat Bonney of Burlington, Ontario and numerous friends from St. John Cantius Parish, St. John Cantius Fraternal Aid Society, Dufferin Seniors Club, the Red Hats, and other organizations she belonged to.
Yvonne was born in Bremen, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba at a very young age, residing on Cathedral Avenue. Growing up she was into sports, with volleyball being her favourite. Her dream was to be a Veterinarian, but all of that changed and she became a Teacher, teaching Grades 8 to 12 at Miles Macdonell Collegiate. In the 70’s, she moved to Toronto and continued her career as a Special Education teacher. She remained in Toronto for the majority of her career. After retiring from over 30 years of teaching, she returned to Winnipeg. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Manitoba, an active member of her parish - St John Cantius Church on Burrows Avenue, and was a member of many organizations.
