Obituary of STANLEY HERBERT PROBETTS
On May 30, 2025, at the age of 94, Stanley Herbert Probetts passed away peacefully at Fred Douglas Lodge.
Stanley was born in Winnipeg on May 1, 1931, to Herbert and Lena Probetts. He was the youngest of three siblings and spent his early years on the family farm in Balmoral. When his father left to serve in World War II, his mother moved the family to an apartment on Redwood and Main in Winnipeg.
Stanley left school at a young age to help support his family while his father was at war. He worked various jobs before beginning a long career at the Cremettes Company, where he met the love of his life, Nadia. They shared 63 wonderful years together until her passing in 2023.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Shannon (Shawn) Granovsky, son Darren Probetts (Marlene), grandchildren Ryan (Cayley) Hussey and Payton Probetts (Sasha), step-grandchild Jordan Granovsky (Twylla), and great-grandchildren Nora Grace and Rhett Stanley Hussey.
Stanley deeply cherished time with his family—whether it was going on trips, enjoying family dinners, visiting the casino, or simply sharing a drink. His joy was always in being surrounded by loved ones.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses, aides, and recreational staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for the special care they provided to our dad.
Dad, you will always be in our hearts. We will love you forever.
As per Stanley’s wishes, a private family burial will take place.
