BING SUN WONG

January 7, 1944 - April 16, 2024

Bing Sun Wong, a one of a kind man who brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. Even in his final days Bing passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Tuesday April 16, 2024, in his hometown of Winnipeg, MB after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bing was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend and always ready with a joke or a kind word to lift the spirits of those around him. His infectious humor and gentle nature made him a cherished presence in the lives of his friends and family members, including his children Kelly (Tracey), Stephanie and Jordan (Sharon); his sisters Pearl (Lloyd), Annamae (Bob), Fay (Ken) and Sylvanna (Warren); his brother Henry and his grandsons Elliot and Wyatt.

Bing was pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Anne; siblings Mary (Walter), Lil (Yun), Jack (Rose) and Lynn (Bob).

Throughout his life, Bing was known for his thoughtfulness and sense of humour. He carried these qualities into his professional life where he worked for Ford until his well-deserved retirement. His colleagues remember him as a reliable and friendly presence, who was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood.

Bing's passion for music was a thread that ran through his entire life. He played guitar for various bands, including his longtime band the Pallbearers, where he brought joy to audiences with every strum of his guitar.

In his free time, Bing was an avid golfer who also enjoyed fishing in his younger days. He found pleasure in the simple things like watching his favorite TV shows and movies at home, where he could relax and unwind. The casino was also another favorite destination where he would love to go.

Bing lived a life full of laughter, love and music.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg.

As we remember Bing’s presence, we also celebrate the life of a man who was full of joy and kindness. Bing's legacy will live on through the stories told and the music he played.
