Obituary of JOE ROBERT YASHUK
JOE YASHUK
August 3, 1936 – May 20, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Joe Yashuk on Tuesday May 20, 2025.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Mary and his sons Allan and Wayne. Joe is survived by his 10 brothers and sisters.
Mourning the passing are his children Dorothy (Ron), George (Deb), Susan (Mark), Leanne (Wayne) and Paula (Jason); his 12 Grandchildren, Elisha, Anthony Tammy, Jamie, Darrell, Kurt, Mandy, Kristy, Danielle, Randy, Ryan, Derek and 10 great grandchildren.
Joe was a long time employee of the CNR, starting in 1954 sweeping up floors and eventually retiring as a Car Shop supervisor in 1992. While with CNR he volunteered to join St. John’s Ambulance Services.
Joe was actively involved with the community of East St. Paul as a volunteer firefighter and eventually the Volunteer Fire Chief of East St. Paul. Joe established many lasting relationships within the community.
Joe met his wife Mary in 1956 and married in 1957 and within a few years, he had built two homes in East St. Paul and started a family. Joe’s family lived at the residence for 63 years. They raised a family and created many happy memories.
In 1981 Joe built their own cottage at Beresford Lake in Nopiming Provincial Park. Joe loved creating and building things from wood or metal. He readily offered help and assistance to all his neighbours. Joe and Mary cultivated many wonderful friends and memories over the years.
Joe was very creative and had a knack for engineering. He was a hard worker and he enjoyed working into his eighties.
Joe – Dad - Grandpa will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery, 64087 Heatherdale Rd 25E, Oakbank, MB.
