Obituary of MONTGOMERY RONALD BRINKWORTH

In Loving Memory of

MONTGOMERY (MONTY) RONALD BRINKWORTH
July 31, 1968 – May 10, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Montgomery (Monty) Ronald Brinkworth on May 10, 2025, at the age of 56.

Monty was born in Baldur, Manitoba, in July 1968 to his parents Ronald and Angie. He later moved to Winnipeg, where he met the love of his life and wife of 36 years, Kelly.

Monty and Kelly met as teenagers when Kelly and her family moved in across the street. At just 16 and 14, they became fast friends and quickly grew inseparable. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance and a bond that only deepened over the years. For more than four decades, Monty stood faithfully by Kelly’s side—as her partner, protector, and best friend.

Monty had a lifelong passion for the automotive world, which he transformed into a fulfilling career. Known for his kindness, work ethic, and sense of humor, he built lasting friendships wherever he worked. Even when changing jobs, he always left on good terms with colleagues who became lifelong friends.

Outside of work, Monty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing with friends and playing in local pool leagues. However, his greatest joy was his family. Monty cherished every moment spent with his children and especially loved being "Papa" to his grandsons. He delighted in playing toy trucks and make-believe, often choosing their company over the adult conversations in the other room, and he proudly shared photos of his grandsons with everyone he met.

Monty will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Kelly; his mother Angie; his brother Marty; his sister Lisa; his children Lyle (Thomas), Danni, Brendon (Kayla), Eric, and Mikayla (Steven); his beloved grandsons Caleb and Liam; and his seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Ronald, sister Sherry, brothers Michael and Miles, and his daughter Chelsea.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the St. Anne’s Police and Emergency Medical Services, the emergency staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, and to Andrew, Tammy, Don, and Sharon Beach for their support and kindness during this difficult time.

A viewing will be held on May 20, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monty’s celebration of life will follow on May 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. Both the viewing and service will take place at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Monty’s name to a charity of your choice.
