Renald grew up in Radville, Saskatchewan and attended university in Regina and technical school in Saskatoon before taking over the family farm in 1976. He then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his wife Gwen and son Thaddeus to complete a Bachelor of Education before becoming a practical arts teacher in The Louis Riel School Division. Renald worked at a few different schools before finishing his career at Glenlawn Collegiate when he retired from teaching in 2009. Renald was also a talented journeyman carpenter and built many projects from cabinets and decks to fences and gazebos.

Renald loved to play his guitar and sing his own songs. Over the years he built many stringed instruments, some of which made it into the hands of family and friends. He was an avid backgammon and cribbage player and was passionate about his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Jets. Renald was also his son’s biggest fan, attending every event and taking on extra woodworking projects to help support Thaddeus in his athletic pursuits.

Renald will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humour, love of music and outgoing nature.

His warm personality and genuine smile will be missed by many.
