To the family of Irene, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Irene was a great person and a former classmate of mine at U of M. Rather coincidentally and eerily I was thinking about Irene this week while I’m on holiday in Mexico for the first time . I thought I spotted another classmate of ours and while trying to see if it could be her, I was directed to the notice under the U of M alumni in memorium and sadly saw Irene’s name there. I remember Irene fondly from the 4 years we had together. We sometimes did group projects together and one I had actually talked about the other day was from our first year I think. Both Irene and I seemed to enjoy mysteries. I remember co-writing a script for a presentation with her about a restaurant called Uncle Willy’s. It was based on the start of an old time mystery radio show (I think it might have been Perry Mason). We had a lot of fun putting that together for our tall trenchcoat wearing classmate ,Brian, to narrate. I still remember part of that script all these years later. I also remember her dedication and hard work in all her projects and how stressed she was about getting them done. She always managed though and did very well. When she wasn’t stressed she was always smiling and was so kind. I’m glad that she had such a wonderful life and family after university. My deepest condolences to you all.

Our family is holding your family close in thought and prayer. May your many good memories sustain you. Cousins are the friends that grow with you. Cousins are the friends who will stomp through the mud with you as a child and hold your hand as an adult. A cousin is a best friend for life. So glad you were part of our lives, Irene!
