Obituary of JOAO JACINTO BORGES
JOÃO “JOHN” JACINTO BORGES
1952-2025
With much sorrow and sadness, we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother. João was born in Madeira, Portugal in 1952 to José and Ilda Borges. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.
His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, as they created many memories while enjoying trips and family visits. He loved to spend his days with Dominic, cooking, playing dominos, and cuddling on the couch.
João is survived by his wife of 50 years, Manuela, their daughters Maria (Dmitri), Carla (Josef), and Veronica (Chris). João will be cherished by his best friend and grandson, Dominic, and granddaughters Ella, Grace, Eleanor, and Reegan. He also leaves behind his brother Roy (Neves), brother-in-law John (Grimoalda), and sister-in-law Natalia, among many cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our neighbours who were there for us on the night of his passing.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N., with viewing to start one hour prior. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street, Winnipeg.
