Obituary of MELANIE ANN NEAULT (nee St. Laurent)
March 22, 1984 - April 21, 2025
It is with profound sorrow the family announce the heartbreaking sudden passing of Melanie Ann Neault on Monday April 21, 2025 at the young age of 41.
Melanie was born in Winnipeg on March 22, 1984 to Melissa and Joe St. Laurent. She grew up on Martin Street in Elmwood where she thrived with friendships and made many memories with her parents, sister and the neighbourhood kids.
Melanie graduated from Kildonan East Collegiate in 2002. Mel took the path in Admin Support for her career, which took her first to the Province of Manitoba and her recent position with Canada Cartage. Mel really enjoyed working at Canada Cartage the last 6 years.
In December of 2011, Melanie and Justin welcomed their daughter Kacee. Mel adored her daughter, and she did everything she could for her. She loved Kacee more than anything and she would never have left her baby girl if she were given that chance. Although Mel is no longer with us in person, she will live on forever through the love of us all and Kacee will always know how much her mom loved her.
In the summer of 2016, Mel married the love of her life, Justin Neault, they dated for years prior and knew each other since they were teenagers. Their wedding day is one of the most treasured moments of Mel’s life. It was everything she hoped for, an outdoor wedding, quadding, swimming, fireworks, dancing under the stars and the companionship she had the entire weekend.
Melanie loved the farm, it was her happy place. The outdoors, animals and her grandparents were incredibly important to her and always were close to her heart. She missed her grandma and grandpa dearly. Since she was a toddler, Mel was riding trikes and quads and as she got older, she loved to rip around on the bikes…she really enjoyed anything with wheels and a motor…we are all surprised she did not become a mechanic or race car driver.
Some of the things Mel enjoyed most were first and foremost her family and friends, but she had a joy and respect for hunting. She loved to camp and she loved to shop. She would joke that she could spend a million dollars in a hour and we believe it. She loved flowers she would always have flowers in her home. She especially loved lilies as they reminded her of grandma. Of course she loved her vehicles especially big trucks with big engines. She was an amazing cook and hostess and she would always get the things she knew you loved or liked to ensure she had you covered. We always would tell her don’t worry about it, but she had her own agenda and we thank her for her thoughtfulness and care. Her family will hold on to all those memories, and carry them forward the best we can, but no gathering will ever be the same without her.
Melanie was looking forward to and began executing a lot of plans with her family and friends. Her family is devastated her future was taken from her.
Melanie is predeceased by her Grandpa and Grandma Frobisher (Roland & Evelyn); Grandma and Grandpa St. Laurent (Agathe & Joseph); Father In Law Steini Neault; Grandma in Law Sarah Taylor; her Aunty Diane Frobisher and nephew Matthew Precourt.
Melanie will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her daughter Kacee and husband Justin; step daughter Katlin; parents Joe and Melissa St. Laurent; sister Jennifer St. Laurent and brother in law Ryan Hutchinson; her uncles and aunts and all her cousins (she has lots, and loved them all, far and near); her niece and nephew’s (Braden, Cole, Emma and Logan); her mother in law Judy Neault (Marcel); brother and sister in law Blaine and Tanis Precourt; brother in law Jordan Neault and especially sister in law Shaunne Precourt and brother in law Paul Breland (her relationship with them has been since her birth and she had a special bond that she adored) and all her friends and her three fur babies (Maddie, Hobbs and Thor).
Melanie’s Celebration of Life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg at 1:00 pm on Saturday May 3, 2025 with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in memoriam.
