My condolences to the Robb Families!
Mr. Robb taught me in grade 3/4 at Ov Jewitt Elementary - in fact our grade 4 class was his final teaching year (2002). Mr Robb was one of the best teachers I ever had, and it was a privilege to have known him all these years. I remember back in 2002 he invited all his students over to his house to see his MASSSSSSIVE snowman collection that he talked about so fondly. I’m sure Judy was happy to see that down size over the years. He will be so greatly missed.
Rest in peace Mr. Robb!

Our sincere Sympathy to you Judy and all of Garwood's family! We will definitely miss Garwood here at South of the Border condos! He always had a smile and something nice to say.
I liked his sense of humour. One example: When we first moved here, they were at a board meeting but one of the boar member, Dennis Jeanson had joined on-line. Garwood told him a new couple had moved in the unit above him and they’d applied for permission to hold tapdancing lessons. And the board approved it. We were only told of this years later and both Denis and Garwood had a great laugh.
His newspaper articles were so varied and interesting. And his photographs, just amazing.
Most of all, we will miss his love of life!
Rest in Peace good friend!

Dear Judy, Trevor, Lauren and all Garwood's family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Garwood. My family are cousins to the Sobie family, so I have known Garwood for over 50 years. I moved away from Winnipeg many years ago, but Garwood and I enjoyed keeping in touch, even
after the passing of his first wife, who was my cousin. I enjoyed hearing all the updates of what was going on in Garwood's life, and he always reached out with interest to learn what was going on with me and my family. I regret that I did not get to meet
Judy, yet I felt like I "knew" her from all that Garwood had shared. I was so happy that they both found joy with each other after earlier losses in their life. Garwood loved his family so much, and he cared about his friends and enjoyed spending time with people. He truly cared about people. I shall miss him dearly. Please accept my heartfelt thoughts and prayers. I regret that I am out of town and was not able to attend the service, but I was sharing in the live stream. It was a wonderful tribute to a truly wonderful man. Rest in peace, dear Garwood.

My sincerest condolences to all who loved Garwood. I had the distinct pleasure of having him as my Grade 4 teacher at Collicutt. His claw foot tub reading nook and other unique approaches made that year of elementary school a memorable one. A particularly significant memory I have is of waking up before the crack of dawn to go to his family home, where he had invited the whole class to watch the launch of the space shuttle. That was a really big deal, and a very special experience for all of us. I know he’s left a similar legacy through his career, writing and close relationships. I am so glad that I was able to reconnect with him in recent years via Facebook. May he rest in peace and may the good memories keep his presence with us.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and prayers for Garwood and for your family at this very sad time. As much as I would love to attend the funeral service, circumstances unfortunately prevent me from doing so. But you are all in my thoughts, my heart, and my prayers.

I had the joy of working as a paraprofessional for Garwood, at O.V. Jewitt Elementary School in the Seven Oak's School Division.
Garwood was a great teacher his classroom had a old claw foot bathtub he turned into a couch in a reading nook for his studentd. Garwood was also a giant of a man who gave the warmest hugs and aa wonderful warm sense of humour. Garwood will remain in my memories as a wonderful teacher and aj joy to work with.
Garwood rest in peace, you will be missed, you brought "Sunshine" where ever you went.

My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Robb. I was a grade six student of Mr. Robb in the seventies. I learned of his passing from passages in the Winnipeg Free Press this morning. I first saw the photo before the name and recognized him immediately. He had a great impact on my education, and I always remembered him as one of my favorite teachers. He made learning engaging and was so encouraging. I'm sorry for your loss.

Dear Judy, Trevor, Lauren and families,
Wishing you all my deepest condolences.
I have known Garwood for longer than I can remember. The Sobie family have been the closest of friends with my family for years.
I used to babysit the boys for Garwood and Marilyn. After babysitting, Garwood would drive me home and tell me all kinds of funny jokes that his classroom had made up.
My fondest memory of Garwood was at Gull Lake. He was wearing one of his very brightly colored Hawaiian shirts, playing Trivia Pursuit and laughing with the most contagious laugh. Garwood always put a big smile on my face.
Rest in peace Garwood.

Our deepest condolences to Judy, Lauren, Trevor, and the entire family. Garwood was truly one of a kind—a special friend whose presence brought so much warmth and laughter into our lives. His stories, often about himself, always left us laughing, especially the way he found joy in sharing them.
One of my most cherished memories is our Ethnic Dinner Group, where Judy, Garwood, Larry, Irene, Bruce, and I embarked on a culinary adventure together. Each gathering was a celebration of culture and friendship, as we took turns crafting dishes from different countries, sharing meals in each other’s homes. Garwood’s creativity shone through, and his thoughtfulness of taking the time to compile recipe books at the end of each year is something I will treasure forever. Those books hold not just recipes, but the memories of the laughter, the camaraderie, and the joy he brought into our lives. We are so thankful and blessed that you were a big part of our lives. We will hold all those memories close to our hearts. We will miss you our dear friend.
