Obituary of MARGARET GRACE TEBINKA
MARGARET GRACE TEBINKA
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and friend Margaret Grace Tebinka (nee Judek) at the age of 69 years following an almost five year battle with cancer.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Richard, and sons Timothy, and Nicholas, brother in law Henry (Barbara) Tebinka of Calgary; mother in law Anna Tebinka of Thunder Bay and brother in law Adam Pilipczuk of Thunder Bay. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Wanda Judek, and sister Elizabeth Pilipczuk.
Margaret was born in Poznan, Poland in June 1955; her family immigrated to Canada in April 1961, settling in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Margaret and Richard married in August 1978 in Thunder Bay and lived in Waterloo, ON, Edmonton, AB, before moving to Winnipeg in 1982.
Margaret’s faith was very important to her and she was an active participant in the St. Alphonsus parish community, including the the CWL, morning masses, completing the Nathanial program, and being a member of the Neocatechumenal Way. She made many friends through her church community.
Margaret loved to see the world, and throughout her life was well-traveled. She saw Canada from coast-to-coast, and returned to Thunder Bay regularly to stay connected with family, traveled a sizable portion of the United States, returned to her home country of Poland, and other overseas destinations including England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, The Vatican, Israel, and Jordan.
Margaret was well-loved, and had many close relationships that she cherished deeply. She would often speak about those who she was blessed to have in her life; she felt it was those connections which gave life meaning. All those who visited, phoned, and kept her in their prayers during her battle with cancer truly made a difference; she felt your love and it helped her continue fighting through the worst of times. She loved you all dearly.
We would like to thank her medical team at Cancer Care Manitoba, at Women`s Hospital, at the Palliative Care ward at St. Boniface General Hospital, at Health Sciences Centre, the Home Care and Palliative Care home teams, and the general practitioners who provided medical care during her cancer battle. The care, and compassion of her doctors, nurses, health care aides, chaplains, etc. was exceptional throughout her illness,
Evening prayers will be held at St. Alphonsus Church on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 7:00 pm, followed by a funeral mass at St. Alphonsus on April 16, 2025 at 11:00 am, celebrated by Fr. Greg Mulligan, and Fr. Janusz Maron. Interment will be held at Glen Eden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s name to Cancer Care Manitoba would be appreciated.
