Obituary of PAUL 'FRANK' HOUSTON

In Loving Memory of Frank Houston

Beloved Father and Grandfather

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Houston, on March 27, 2025, at the age of 86 years. Frank passed away peacefully with his sons by his side at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He was predeceased by wife Deanne (Turcotte) Houston in 2000. Frank is survived by his sons Mike (Joanna), Curtis (Denarae); grandchildren, Zac, Tess, and Ryleigh.

Frank was born on January 14, 1939 in Pine Falls, Manitoba. From a young age, he exhibited a strong sense of responsibility and independence. He married Deanne, moved to Winnipeg and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Shortly after arriving in Winnipeg, Frank enrolled at Red River Community College and earned his ticket as a plumber/pipefitter.  He would go on to ply his trade on pipelines across North America. Tired of leaving his family, Frank joined the Canadian National Railway where he enjoyed a two-decade career.

Following the passing of his beloved wife Deanne, Frank made it his mission to become the world’s best grandpa. He tried to be at every hockey, baseball, lacrosse practice or game. He always made sure to have a loonie or toonie ready for the grandkids to enjoy a treat at the canteen.

If he wasn't spending time with his grandchildren, Frank could always be found at the cottage—a place where he was happy and content. Whether tinkering with broken lawnmowers, breaking rocks, or building fires, it was clear that the cottage brought him genuine joy.

Frank will be deeply missed by his loving family including Mike, Curtis, Zac, Tess, Ryleigh and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will remain with us forever.
