Obituary of JOYCE OLGA BRUNEAU (Timoshyk)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 82.
Mom is survived by her children, Debbie (Ron), Jason, Dean (Sylvie); sister-in-law, Jeanette; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Jacques (Coco); parents, Slawa and Mary Timoshyk; brother, Johnny; and sister, Stephie.
Joyce was born in Winnipeg, the third child of Slawa and Mary. She grew up on Templeton Avenue, which was at that time farmland.
In 1963 mom and dad were married. They lived with mom’s father for awhile before building their dream home in Rivercrest where they started their family. Mom was a hairdresser but then started her shop in the basement of our home while raising the kids. Our family did a lot of road and camping trips all through Canada and the U.S. Sadly, our father passed away at a young age. Mom was our rock, giving us strength, guiding and helping us with life decisions. When the kids were older mom took a job at Manitoba Pork where she worked for many years before retiring at the age of 57. After retirement mom did a lot of travelling and entertaining, going on casino and shopping trips and exercise classes with her friends.
As per mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and closest friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Joyce’s memory.
Joyce’s children would like to thank the staff at Donwood Personal Care Home for the great care they showed mom in the last five years.
