Obituary of MIGUEL PIMENTEL VIVEIROS
Deeply loved and cherished, Miguel Viveiros died peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the age of 86.
Miguel was born on November 10, 1938 in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azorez, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 living in Toronto, Ocean Falls, BC and settling in Winnipeg.
He married Escolastica in 1965 and they had three children, Miguel, Margareda and Frank. Miguel was a paper mill worker in BC and a butcher in Winnipeg.
He was an avid car, soccer and hockey enthusiast, and enjoyed hobby farming, gardening and wine making. He never missed a Maple Leaf’s game and was rarely seen without his Leaf’s hat. Family was his everything and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Miguel is survived by his wife Escolastica, children Miguel, Margareda and Frank (Erin); grandchildren Kristopher, Tyler, Breanne and Justin. As well as his brother Jose “Joe” (Sylvana), sisters Sarah in B.C. and Ilda in Portugal, and sister-in-law Louisa.
Viewing will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Program and Riverview 3 East for providing comfort and kindness in his final days.
