Obituary of JOSE FERNANDO SANTOS

On February 15, 2025, Jose (Joe) Santos passed away peacefully at the age of 77 at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Ana; children: Kelly (Corey) and Stacey (Mike); grandchildren: Caitlin (Jeremy), Kayla, and Octavia; great-grandchildren: Lilah and Oliver.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Maria Ermelinda; his mother and father-in-law, Augusto and Almerinda; his brother, Alberto; and his sister-in-law, Fernanda.

Joe leaves behind his siblings, Olinda (Manuel) and Odette (Jose), along with nieces and nephews.

Joe was born on April 20, 1947, in Cabouco, São Miguel, and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1966, where he met his wife, Ana. The two had a loving marriage and created a large family that brought Joe immense joy and love. Joe loved being around his grandchildren and was thrilled to experience the joy of great-grandchildren. He will be loved forever in our hearts.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care.

A private ceremony was held in honor of Joe at Holy Ghost Parish on February 20, 2025, with inurnment at Holy Ghost Cemetery (4387 Main Street). Flowers are gratefully declined, and the family asks that a donation to a charity of your choice be made in Joe’s memory instead.
