Obituary of CONNIE KATHLEEN MATHIAS
Connie Kathleen Mathias (nee) Filbert
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Kathleen Mathias at Concordia Hospital on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the age of 76.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Jim, son Sean (Jen), daughter Stacey (Chris), grandson Dylan, sister Linda (Elliot) and numerous extended family members.
She was predeceased by her father John Filbert, mother Helen Filbert and brother Lenoard Filbert.
Connie was born in Winnipeg and grew up in West Kildonan. Growing up Connie enjoyed many trips to her family's farm in Lac Du Bonnet. She met the love of her life Jim in 1970 where they were married 2 years later in March of 1972. In 1974 they had their son Sean. Her and Jim moved into their new home in Transcona and 4 years later in 1978 along came their daughter Stacey.
Connie worked at Bernie Wolfe School for 35 years as a Special Needs Educational Assistant. She enjoyed working with her students, and it was something she looked forward to doing every day. She retired in October of 2020.
In her retirement years Connie spent her time reading, gardening and enjoying time with her husband Jim, family, friends and her grandson Dylan who was the light of her life.
Connie was always a bright and cheerful person with a heart of gold. She was always there for her family and always gave the best advice. She was Always right! We will miss her nightly phone calls.
Mother we hold you close within our hearts,
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives,
Until we meet again.
We Love You Mom Forever and Always.
