NORMAN KOWALCHUK

Obituary of NORMAN KOWALCHUK

It is with deep sadness and all the love in the world that we announce the quick and peaceful passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandpa.

Norm will be missed dearly by his wife, Faye, son Darren (Elizabeth and grandson Brandon), Ken (Victoria and granddaughter Angelina), Dave (Stacey and grandson Rylan), and daughter Karen (Jeff), his sisters Pat Kowalchuk and Betty Pietkiewicz (Henry), and many family members. Norm was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary, in-laws Frank and Olga Woytowich, brother Mike (Noreen) Kowalchuk, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Norm enjoyed keeping himself extremely busy with being a qualified electrician. He changed his career to teaching the Electrical Apprenticeship course at Red River Community College.  He loved to see his students graduate with honours.  When he was a father with four young children, he volunteered with their community sports teams.  Norm was a social person who had many friends and loved to share stories while enjoying a rum and coke.  Norm volunteered countless hours to help at the church, or visiting with fellow parishioners who were in the hospital.  He was always willing to lend a hand to help his family and friends.

In keeping with Norm's wishes, a Funeral Parastas will be celebrated at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 400 Day Street, on Friday, February 7 at 11:00 am with interment in Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norm's memory may be made to St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Parish, CancerCare, or a charity of your choice.
