Lydia was always honest, straightforward, warm, full of good humor and so smart! Her, Edie and Betty were an amazing trio in 7 Oaks, always on the cutting edge of research, beautifully dressed and welcoming to all. I went to Sutton District High School with Lydia and Rudi. When they left the province I missed them, but knew they were together. This sad event somehow makes me miss them more - as I knew they were together Lydia has crossed the bridge into the unknown and our thoughts are with her and hers !! All the Best Rudi/ Alles Gute !! Lydia kept me on my toes, inspired so many of us to do everything we could meet the needs of all students and their families, and provided so many fresh and innovative paths for students to find success. My condolences to Rudi, the boys and all who will miss her.

My deepest sympathies to Lydia's family. She was an inspiring colleague and leader. Lydia was incredibly student-centred in her thinking and actions. She inspired us to be better and do better. Manitoba and MASS (Manitoba Association of School Superintendents) was fortunate to have her voice and actions in support of student learning and well-being. She will be greatly missed.

Our families thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult. time. Lydia was very supportive of my son and daughter at Belmont. She was a fixture of 7Oaks school division. She would always ask about my son and the family. A very sad loss.
