Karen Leggat, Owner

Karen grew up in Brandon, MB. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of British Columbia and returned to Winnipeg where she has lived for over 25 years. Karen has a passion for working with families and has worked extensively in the disability field, both in government and non- profit agencies. She is currently the Board Chair of Continuity Care lnc., a board member with Pulford Community Living Services, as well as a board member with Lubov SSMI Foundation. She works closely with Palliative Manitoba to deliver monthly grief seminars as well as grief education for staff working with individuals with disabilities.

Lee Barringer started his funeral career in 1988 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  He has been involved in all aspects of funeral service, in both the family and corporate sectors.

Committed to lifelong learning, he provides funeral education, consulting and training to funeral and other care giving professions.  Lee has also served families as a Celebrant speaker for the past twenty five years, and helps families create personalized Celebration of Life Services.  He was a past member of the Red River College, steering committee and program advisory committee He went on to being a subject matter expert in the development of curriculum, and wrote and taught both "Belief Systems" and "Funeral Ethics & Professionalism" courses.

 A past board member for Palliative Manitoba, and past chair of their education committee, he has taught the "Grief and Loss" course for their Compassionate Care Program for many years. As well as traveled and taught to First Nations Communities.

Lee enjoys writing and has had many articles published in Funeral Trade Magazines, in both Canada and the U.S.A.

Douglas was born in Winnipeg and was raised in the city's diverse North End. 
Douglas began his career in financial services in 1980 and has spent the past 18 years in senior leadership positions with the Bank of Nova Scotia.  He has extensive knowledge and experience in assisting individuals and families in financial and estate planning matters.  Douglas has achieved his designation as a Personal Financial Planner and is an Associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. In 2011 Douglas completed the Foundation Program through C.C.F.S.
Douglas is married to Cona and they have three adult children.  They are parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada.  Douglas supports the community in his work  as a Director with Hockey Manitoba, Advisory Board Queens Own Cameron Highlander Regiment, serves on the Internal Audit Committee of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada, and in his previous volunteer work with the United Way of Winnipeg, Special Olympics Manitoba, and as a former Board Member with Prairie Theater Exchange. In 2013 Douglas was honoured as an inductee in the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame (Team Category).

Barbara was born and raised in Rivers Manitoba.  After completing high school, she moved to Winnipeg and lives with her husband Dave and dog Declan.  Barbara has worked for many years running her own business and working in retail management.  In 2003 she completed a course in Computer Accounting.  Barbara’s duties include the day to day accounting functions and management of Administration staff.  In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her dog, cross country skiing, canoeing and gardening.
