Obituary of JOHN BRIAN TRIGGS

JOHN BRIAN TRIGGS

AUGUST 16, 1944- DECEMBER 18, 2017

It is with tremendous grief and heavy hearts that I must announce the passing of my beloved husband and best friend John Brian Triggs on Dec.18th, 2017 at 3:21 am at the Seven Oaks Hospital.

John was a gentleman, kind hearted, a gentle soul and the most loving man you would ever want to meet.  His sense of humour and dry wit were loved by family and friends .

John was born in Edgware Middlesex England on August 16th, 1944 to John and Emily Triggs. He was raised in a loving family with his two sisters Barbara and Sue.  John was predeceased by his parents John and Emily and grandchildren Hope and Gabriel, and recently deceased sister Barbara and husband Roy Lilley.

John came to Canada  to find a better life as things were difficult in England in the 60’s. He married his first wife Diane Domes and they had three children Chris, Jeff and Jennifer.

In 1987 he met his second wife Theresa and a lifetime of fun, and adventure began for them.

John loved to travel and had a great sense of adventure and many winter vacations took place in Mexico. A highlight his two sisters and their husbands from England joining us for a warm sunny holiday and a family reunion.John and his wife Theresa travelled to Hawaii, Canary Islands, England, Italy, Portugal and many spots in the USA.

John was an avid runner and had run many marathons in the past.  John would go to the Wellness Centre everyday  as he enjoyed working  out and challenging himself especially in Murray’s spin classes.

He worked for Hignell Printing for 34 years and took  a part time job in retirement  with House Guard as he enjoyed meeting new people and was well liked by his clients. He loved music  and always was tuned into some radio station or music video and would sing along.

John was an avid gardener, a real Mr. Fix -it  and loved home renovations and built many a rec room doing all his own electrical. He was an information junkie and loved to learn new things. He was a very special man full of love and caring.

It is with much dismay that his wonderful grandchildren, Caden, Carson and Taliah from Minnesota, Melanie, Laura, Jessica Sophia and Owen were cut short of the tremendous love their Papa had for them. All the nieces and nephews and family left behind in England were also loved very much by their dear Uncle John. Greg Sweet Hughes(Zoe) Sophia and Bethany, Natalie (Darren Wright) Edie and Ruby, Tony and Susi Bird, Dave Bird (Jenny ) Matthew, and niece Lauren of Toronto and Alex Schoen of Winnipeg.

His fur boys  Miko and Milo will sadly miss their Doggie Daddy too as they were such a blessing in our lives every day and he loved taking them for their walks every day.

At the Atlantic Garden City United Church John was able to find his church family and many loving and caring people he was honored to call friends.

A funeral service will be held at Atlantic Garden City United Church at 725 Atlantic Ave. Winnipeg  R2W 0S6..corner of Arlington Street and Atlantic Ave on January 3rd, 2018 at 1 pm.
