Obituary of FRANK MCMULLIN

FRANK MCMULLIN

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank McMullin on Thursday, September 14, 2017, beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend.

Frank was born on January 15, 1937 in Winnipeg to Hugh and Mildred McMullin. He was a resident of the North Kildonan area for most of his life, where he attended St. Alphonsus and John Pritchard School. On Feb 7, 1959 Frank married his teenage sweetheart Delores Olsen and had 4 children.  He was a devoted catholic and could be found every Sunday at Holy Redeemer Parish. Frank’s first priority was always his family even if meant having to work up north or moving to another province where he felt he could better provide for his wife and kids.  Frank loved life and had many friends, it wasn’t too often where he couldn’t go somewhere without someone yelling “Hey Frankie” and could be found every morning having his ritual coffee at Salisbury House or A&W. In 1996 Frank suffered a massive stroke which left him without the ability to speak, but being the strong man that he was, he persevered through it and has spent the last 20 years living a very quiet but happy life in Middlechurch Home, where he was more like a volunteer than a resident, helping and treating others with love and respect and in turn received the same right up until his passing. The family would like to express the deepest thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Middlechurch for making Frank feel so loved and at home for all those years.

Frank leaves to mourn his wife Delores and 4 children Randy (Tracy), Darryl (Sandy), Tammy (Ted) and Penny (Don) as well as 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, his sister Virdean Cameron and many nieces and nephews who all have fond memories of their uncle Frank. Frank was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Mildred McMullin, his brother Clifford, sisters Elaine and Bernadette and grandson Ryan McMullin.

A Celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Parish, 3597 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Private interment will follow with Frank’s grandsons as pallbearers.

Donations can be made to Middlechurch Home in Frank’s memory.

Remembering Me

When you remember me you carry something of who I am with you,

You will know me when we meet again…. I am never entirely lost…

I lived …loved and existed.
