LISA LOVALLO

Obituary of LISA MICHELLE LOVALLO

After a courageous battle with cancer, Lisa Michelle Lovallo, passed away at the age of 39 on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Lisa leaves to mourn her beloved daughter Carly Amanda Alison Gesell, her partner Jarrod Gesell, her mother Cheryl Lovallo, her father Vincent Lovallo, her brother Christopher (Maria) Lovallo, her beloved Dad Taras Plischke, her grandmother Iris Nugent, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lisa was born in Winnipeg on June 23, 1978 to Cheryl Leslie Birch and Vincent Thomas Lovallo. She was enrolled in French Immersion classes from nursey school through high school, graduating from College Pierre Elliott Trudeau. An avid athlete, Lisa competed on school volleyball, basketball and soccer teams as well as community soccer. She played baritone in the school band and was a great music buff. After some secondary education and several career choices, Lisa finally joined MPI and became an adjuster.  One of Lisa’s proudest moments was the attainment of her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and considered it an example to her daughter of the importance of education and that you are never too old to go back to school.

Lisa was a kind and loving person. She had a wicked sense of humour but was always the first one to offer to help others. This is a quality that she has instilled in her daughter.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Lisa’s honour on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Winnipeg. As Lisa’s wish was to be remembered with joy, we ask that rather than attend in black, you choose to wear bright colours in her memory.

The family would like to thank Seven Oaks General Hospital 5th floor unit 5U for their kindness and caring of Lisa in her final days. We would also like to thank the many doctors and residents that were an important part of Lisa’s journey. And finally there are no words to express the deep gratitude to the Seven Oaks Oncology Department, Chemo Treatment Group and especially to the incredible Dr. A Fatoye. We have been so blessed to have you travel this journey with us. Your integrity and compassion will remain with us always.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
