Fernanda and Joao migrated to Canada in 1970 with their children, and lived in Whitemouth, MB for a few years, having later moved to Winnipeg to raise their family and built a solid life together. She loved camping in Selkirk for many years with her children and grandchildren always around. She loved being at the beach, even on the hottest day and always had a smile on her face as she watched those she loved.
When she lost her husband in 1995, she lived with her daughter Grace and her children, Brandon and Selena, whom she helped raise. She had so much love for those two kids and shared so many great memories that they will cherish forever.
