Olga WOLKOWICZ

Obituary of Olga WOLKOWICZ

OLGA ANNA (HALICKA) WOLKOWICZ 1916 - 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 92, on November 14, 2008 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Olga, the youngest of six sisters, was born on February 20, 1916 in Babince, Poland and came to Canada in December 1958 with her son Zbigniew and daughter Lusia. Olga worked at Stall & Sons until her retirement in 1985. Babcia was devoted to her family and we will all miss her warmth, generosity, hospitality and wonderful cooking (no-one ever left babcia's house hungry). She enjoyed a long and active life and particularly looked forward to spending summers outdoors in her garden or in the woods picking mushrooms with family and friends. Olga was predeceased by her parents and sisters, her son Marian at age 3; her husband Jozef in 1953, and daughter Lucy Bordolinski in 2007. Babcia's memory will be forever cherished by her family: son Zbigniew (Zofia) Wolkowicz; son-in-law Richard Bordolinski; grandchildren Terisa (John) Gigiel, Victor Bordolinski, Kristen (Kurt) Marchak, Margaret (Robert) Trager, Mark Bordolinski, and Zenon (Trudy) Wolkowicz. "Little Babcia" will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her great-grandchildren Jessica, Micheal & Wesley Marchak, Katia & Riley Trager, and Kyla & Joey Wolkowicz. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday. November 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father as Celebrant, with viewing half hour prior. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Victor Bordolinski, Mark Bordolinski, Zenon Wolkowicz, John Gigiel, Kurt Marchak and Robert Trager. The family would like to thank the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for their care and devoted service to our grandmother while she was a resident there, and the doctors, nurses and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion in making her final few days as comfortable as possible.
