Obituary of Mike Vukovich

MILOVAN (MIKE) VUKOVICH On June 29, 2008 at his home, Mike Vukovich passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his wife Erna in 1976, daughter Helen in 1953, and brother Svetomir (Steve) in 2008. Mike was born in the town of Komiric in former Yugoslavia (Serbia) in 1919 and came to Canada in 1951 settling in Winnipeg. He was employed in the hotel business for 32 years before retiring. Mike enjoyed Sunday barbeques in the back yard with the family and grandchildren, keeping in touch with relatives in the old country, watching TV especially wrestling, and loved reading the newspaper and looking out the window in the front veranda. Mike leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, his sons Steve and daughter-in-law Joan, Mike, Peter and Christopher. Also his granddaughters Laica and Kristin, his grandsons Derek and Cody. His nephews Danny and Branko, as well as numerous friends and neighbours. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 3 at 9:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
