JOSEPH SWAREK 1924-2008 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Joseph Swarek on July 24, 2008 at the age of 83 years. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Marianne, son Randall (Cindy) of Kelowna, BC; daughter Darcy (Stephen) of Kamloops, BC; grandchildren Erin (Shane), Alana and Kyle; great-grandchildren Robyn Ash and Teagan; sister Frances and family of Chicago. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Robyn Corbett. Joseph was born in Winnipeg. He served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Upon his return he attended the University of Manitoba and later the Radio College of Canada followed by Coyne College. He was employed by Sears Canada and latterly Revenue Canada. In his early years, Joe was an active member of the Tobans Community Club. He recently completed a booklet on the early history of Tobans. He was a founding member of the Fermented Fruits wine club (Winnipeg Vintners and Brewers). It was a time of learning, sharing and great fellowship. He became grand champion and was awarded the Gold Key. He was a Life member of the St. John Cantius Fraternal Aid Society where he served many years on the executive of the parent and seniors club. Joe was devoted to his family. He lovingly saw to the care of his parents during their lifetime and was grateful for the joy of his children and their families. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, Osbome St. at Arnold with Rev. Fr. Bo Wardzinski as Celebrant. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
