Margaret OLENICK

Obituary of Margaret OLENICK

MARGARET OLENICK (NEE DUDAR) (Auntie Madge) Margaret passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Victoria General Hospital. Her memory will be forever cherished by her nieces Margaret and Janet and their families; nephew Gary and his family; sisters-in-law Pat and Kay; friends and neighbours. Auntie Madge is the last of her generation, predeceased by husband Fred in 1957; parents; brothers; sisters and beloved friend Karl in 2007. Auntie Madge was born in Winnipeg July 8, 1917. She attended Faraday School where she made life long friends. She was employed at Eatons in the Lingerie Department for 25 years retiring in 1982. Auntie Madge loved to sew and knit, enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and reading. Her favourite passion was cats. She fed all the strays and many stayed as pets. The neighbourhood dogs welcomed her as she also fed them. We must not forget her famous chicken soup. Auntie Madge lived on Inkster Blvd. for over 50 years, her last year residing at Cornish 6 Misericordia Hospital. Thank you all for the care and compassion. Auntie Madge left with no regrets and we are left with many memories that will sustain us while we grieve, yet rejoice in her release. Auntie Madge touched us in many ways - sometimes with humour and laughter, sometimes with sadness, tears and sometimes we argued and had different opinions but there was always love. We will miss her greatly. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
