Obituary of Anne KINASCHUK

ANNE KINASCHUK Peacefully, on Sunday, May 4, 2008, Anne passed away at the Health Science Centre at the age of 81. Anne was predeceased by her husband Metro in 1997, her mother Mary Bernacki, brothers Nick and Joe Bernacki, and sister-in-law Pat. Anne will be sadly missed by her children, son Gary (Barbara) and granddaughter Katie, son Danny (Jo-Anne and sons Allan and Kade Babiak); granddaughters Chantel and Brittany, son Raymond, son Jamie; her brother John and family; sister-in-law Bernice and family with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special family friends Rae Prociuk and Madeline Lord. Anne was born and raised in Winnipeg. She and Metro married and together raised four boys. While raising her boys she also worked in stores such as Gambles and Eaton's spanning 20 years until her retirement. After her retirement she spent many dedicated years taking care of her mother. In the later stages of life mom enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren here and in Edmonton. She also enjoyed her garden, playing Bingo, bowling, many excursions and activities with the Senior's Club at St. Nick's Parish, as well as attending the Wellness Centre. Her family was a very big part of mom's life as well as her life long friends and their card game get-togethers. Mom had a wonderful sense of humour and tremendous compassion to her friends. Mom's mothering and welcoming nature included the many friends the boys brought home. Special thanks to Rae Prociuk, a long time friend and confidant, helping mom through her most trying times. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre. Also many thanks to the Palliative Care Program and the Home Care Aides who attended to our mom. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman at Arlington with Rev. Fr. Isidore Dziadyk officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. "Mom, you will be greatly missed" CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
