Gerald COOPER

Obituary of Gerald COOPER

GERALD BRENT COOPER Suddenly, at home, at the age of 55, Gerry Cooper passed away on May 6, 2008. No words can express the sorrow how his sudden passing has affected his family. We are all truly devastated. His memory will forever be cherished by his loving parents, Natalie and Gerry Cooper of Selkirk, MB; sister Barbara of Winnipeg; brother Robert (Helaine) of Vancouver. His very special nephew John (partner Sara), great nephew Jakob and great niece Xena will forever miss Uncle Gerry's tremendous sense of humor and love of life. Many aunts (especially Louise), uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and co-workers will mourn his abrupt passage. Gerry was a joy to be around, he had a bit of a crust but a true heart of gold. He was a loyal and loving person and always willing to help anyone. Gerry was employed as a butcher in the retail grocery and meat business. His path started in Nova Scotia, followed by 16 years with the Hudson's Bay Company (Northern Stores Division) and 11 years with the Northwest Company in Nakina, Ontario, Lynn Lake, Pinawa, and Pine Falls in Manitoba. He was currently employed with IGA in West Kildonan. Gerry was meticulous, and an avid collector of many, many treasures and spent much of his free time on his motorcycle hunting for more. His record collection is outstanding. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date in accordance with Gerry's wishes. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com. If you wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba in his honor. Rest in peace lovely man.
