Obituary of Agnes BALYK

AGNES MAY BALYK 1921-2008 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Agnes passed away on Sept. 24 2008. She was 87 years young. Agnes is survived by her loving sons Michael (Cindy) and Robert (Connie): grandchildren April, Tania, Shianna and Jeremy; great grandchildren Kaleb and Gabrielle: her sister Margaret Stewart and brother Fred Stewart; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband William in 2005, also by her brother Bill Stewart and sisters Mona Kowk and Isabel Dunthorne. Agnes was born in Winnipeg, on January 11, 1921. She worked at Swift Packers where she met the love of her life, Bill. They were wed on June 5, 1948 and spent 57 glorious years together. Their home was always open to friends and family. A very important part of her life was the special bond that she cherished between her and her sister Margaret and brother Fred. This bond was a tremendous source of comfort as her physical health was failing. She was an amazing woman, small in stature but large in spirit. Her smiles and laughter could fill a room. Mom was extremely generous with her unconditional love, kindness, humor, tea, cookies and candies. For years she touched many hearts and helped countless patients as she volunteered at Seven Oaks Hospital. Her positive and fun-loving spirit will be with us always. Our hearts are so full of love and pride. We will always cherish your memory and share her faith that we will be together again. Mom, Grandma, GG…Thank you for all the love and kisses. We love you. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
