Obituary of John Andryjowich

John Joseph Andryjowich April 10, 1930 - June 12, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John, beloved husband and father, on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Saphira, his children Laurel (Ross) and Leslie. John is also survived by sister Carol, brother Walter, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Pauline and William, sister Nellie, Victoria, Eugenie, and brother Larry. John was born April 10, 1930 and raised in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. As a young man he worked briefly for the railway before realizing his dream of building his own business. With mom by his side, City Gas Heating and Appliance Co. Ltd was established and run from their home successfully for many years. Dad developed a passion for fishing in the Whiteshell with his brother-in-law Fred, and in the early 1970's bought a little cabin on Nutimik Lake named "Heaven Sent". This was the place dad was happiest, the place he spent his last days, and the place that now leaves us with 35 years of memories, and fishing tales to cherish. The family would like to thank the paramedics who transported dad to Pinawa and to Winnipeg, the staff at Pinawa Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital CCU, and Dr. Hussain for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Alan Armstrong officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in dad's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., R3L 0K6 or a charity of your choice. "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." Love, your Family. "Happy Fishing Johnny!" Cropo Chapel 586-8044
